Proxwell Personas & Permissions
Proxwell's permission structure creates a hierarchical care management system that assigns specific roles and responsibilities to different stakeholders.
The system centers around Care Recipients (either partially independent or fully dependent) and establishes a clear chain of command through the Account Owner (subscription holder with full system control), Primary Caregiver (day-to-day care manager), regular Caregivers (task performers), and Observers (concerned stakeholders who can view but not modify).
This structured approach ensures appropriate access levels while maintaining accountability and coordination across the entire care network.
Care Recipient
The Care Recipient is the person who needs assistance / support with tasks (medications, vital measurements, and activities of daily life) that are part of their care plan as prescribed by health care professionals. There are two types of Care Recipients:
Partially independent Care Recipient: a Care Recipient who is able to participate in their care (e.g., can take meds but needs help with other tasks)
Dependent Care RecipientL a Care Recipient who is not able to participate in their care (needs assistance with all tasks in the care plan)
Account Owner
The Account Owner is the person who is the paying subscriber of the Proxwell account and has account-level control:

The Primary Caregiver is the lead Caregiver who manages the Care Team day-to-day. There is only one Primary Caregiver at a time to avoid confusion. The Account Owner designates who the Primary Caregiver is. These permissions are:

Checking-in for shifts
Indicating when they have completed tasks
Recording patient notes
Recording health observations
Administering "as needed" medications
Observer
An Observer is a Care Team member who is not directly involved in assisting with the completion of Care Plan tasks but is a concerned stakeholder who wants stay informed.
Observers can be family members who are geographically remote or who do not have the time or resources to participate directly in care. An Observer could also be an interested third-party such as a Healthcare Provider or a Legal Guardian.
Observers can view all screens within Proxwell but cannot edit or modify any task or setting other than their notification preferences.
