Logging Health Observations with the Gold Button
What is the Gold Button?
The gold button in Proxwell is your quick-access tool for capturing important health observations in real-time. Located prominently in your app, this feature lets you instantly record changes in your care recipient's health, energy, behavior, or any unscheduled medications – right when they happen.
Tapping on the gold button pulls up options where different types of health items can be logged; Notes, Medications, Health Observations or Measurements, and Activity Events.
Why the Gold Button Matters
Healthcare isn't just about scheduled tasks and medications. Some of the most important information comes from noticing changes in daily life – a sudden energy dip, unusual behavior, an unexpected symptom, or an as-needed medication dose. The gold button makes it effortless to capture these crucial observations before they're forgotten.
These logged observations:
Create a comprehensive health record your care team can reference
Help identify patterns and trends in health and wellness
Provide valuable context for healthcare providers during appointments
Keep all caregivers and family members informed about important changes
Are stored in the care recipient’s health data on the details screen
How to Log an Observation
Tap the gold button – You'll find it on every major throughout the app in the bottom center
Select ‘Health’
You can choose from two options via the tabs on the Log Health popup
Observations - Free-form text that allows a caregiver to describe what they see.
Measurements - Specific stats such as temperature or blood pressure.
Add details – Include any relevant notes about what you observed as well as the time and date of occurrence.
Tap OK to finish – Your observation is instantly recorded
Tips for Effective Health Tracking
Log immediately – Capture observations when they happen, while details are fresh
Be specific – Include relevant details like duration, intensity, or context
Note the context – What was happening before or during the observation?
Review regularly – Check your History to spot patterns over time
Who Can See These Observations?
Health observations are visible to everyone in your care recipient's network – all caregivers and observers with access to this patient's information. This ensures everyone stays informed and can provide coordinated, responsive care.
